Great hat. I have fond memories of the Royal Hospital. Some years after the death of my Grandad my Grandmother dated Tom one of the pensioners for a number of years until his demise. During this time I pretty much had the run of the Hospital which has a superb medal collection and got to hear the war stories of many of the old chaps. I also had the pleasure of Tom attending my Army passing out parade,The DS couldnt do enough for him.

A fairly unique piece there Jerry. I doubt there are many of these in private hat collections

    PS Happy birthday BTW

Thanks all for the comments. Funny this took a while to get noticed, but glad it did as I was very pleased to get this which must have belonged to a veteran

Yep, over a month! I know it is frustrating when a post seems to go "under the radar". I at least check the new posts virtually every day and try to read them all even if it is in the early hours when I get in from a late shift whilst "unwinding" with a cup / glass of something but I didn't see this one, sorry

    Regards

A very nice cap Jerry... Dorset Militaria currently have this one on eBay for £200. There are also several tunics for sale at a fairly reasonable price.

    Steve,

Never seen a Rh tricorn for sale previously. The tunic for the owner of my hat was for sale as a separate lot, but I did not have the money at the time.
