Default Royal Signals Officers side cap with a surprise!

Recently received: a Royal Signals Officer's private purchase, tailor made side cap, in the customary dark/pale blue cloth and bullion piping. GS front buttons, cap badge worsted in bullion with a major fault: the Royal Sigs motto reads "carta cito" instead of "certa cito" Now, is it likely that the officer that had been wearing it, did not pay any attention to the mistake in the motto?

The sewing equivalent of a typo I assume, but quite cool in it's own way and a very nice Coloured FS cap IMHO.
