Default Royal Welsh Fusilers OR'S coloured FS cap

A recent pick up from the bay, a plain blue OR's coloured FS cap with Kings crown GS buttons, all of which is correct. These caps are usually from 1937 onward, though they did exist pre WWI and this example has the pre 1920 version of the OR's bi metal badge on a slider. There are signs of a bladed or lugged badge having been on it, though the slidered badge has been on it long enough to have left an imprint in the fabric. Most have of these have the sides held up by a small hook each side which fits onto a small vent hole, though some versions exist that have the sides lightly stitched up and is not a problem, while this example has had the sides quite heavily sewn up.

Plain blue fs caps were used by a number of regiments and it might have been rebadged from one of them and they include the Royal Fusiliers, the Post Office Rifles, the Manchester Regiment, the North Staffs Regiment, the Loyal Regiment, the South Staffs Regiment and the Beds & Herts Regiment.

All in all an unusual example with some head scratching features about it, though it does not match known fakes to my knowledge.

Also a last point, the slider has some letters etc. scratched onto it, WI or IM can be clearly seen but the rest is not legible but is probably his name or initials.
