Thoughts on British beret

Is this a British beret, marked Hassing 1989 inside.

Badge is British Royal Armoured Corps, fairly modern by the look of it. I have never seen such a large backing patch as that. Seeing the markings might confirm if the beret is also British.

Agree with Jerry (as usual.) While the cap badge is modern, it would never be worn in that manner.

Thanks for the info. Would the Royal Tank Corp wear brown or khaki colored berets?

and would the backing color be correct for a certain unit even thou it is to big?

RAC/RTR unless one of the Cavalry regiments wear Black berets. No certain idea but the backing patch seems totally wrong.

No. They wear black.

I think someone has put a Brit badge on a Belgian beret.

Our Army does not wear badges on backings like that.
