    The buttons are engineers buttons I am not sure the reason but the corps of engineers had their own button it was common to be found on hats and uniforms. This was done from ww2 to now I believe

    Nice cap, a modern era version of course, not WWII era. Non-gold bullion insignia cheapens these caps, IMHO. Not sure why the Army chose to do this, unless for economy reasons.
    The eagle looks older, perhaps from a WWII era cap?

    The eagle is probably from the 50s, I have seen some early hats with the non-bullion bills most the 50s I think that is really when they began mulling around the idea personally the bullion from ww2 and the 1930s looks much better than this style good hat overall
