Nice cap Chris, where did you get it from? If you found it in Denmark then it would make sense with the whole North Atlantic connection.

I bought it from an American website two years ago. It is in a not so good condition, but what the heck, it was one of my first pieces

A head-form will perhaps reshape it over time - Looks a bit
squashed from the post ? I'd be placing it in a more
    prominent position for display.........!

    It is actually triangular shaped

Horror. But I found styrofoam heads and those beautiful wooden display on feeBay. Might try those.

Styrofoam is only OK for very short term display. The material "out gases" which will over time damage leather sweatbands. I never use these, only glass heads which are 100% safe.

    Cheers, Ade.

Glass is good - whichever you use it will keep the headband shaped
correctly and the cap will look much better on display.

Ade, will styrofoam heads damage German helmet liners? If they do then I will have to do a little display rearrangement.

    Yes. Don't use them.
