Definitely well post WWII cap. Junior officer (2/lt thru capt.) dress cap, with band designating either engineers, or medical corps. I can't tell shade of maroon. Value maybe $50, tops.

the us army has worn the dress blue uniform since 1937 and the Essayons on the cap are of the Engineer corps the only unit in the us army to still retain their own buttons to present day

I missed the Engineers side buttons at first glance As for Artillery, they have a solid scarlet band, no piping.

The only way to tell when it was made for sure is to look at the lining and the base hat material. 1950's and earlier is wicker or a reddish very dense material like a thin masonite, post 1950's they changed to a black plastic, and post 1970 they changed to a cream colored plastic.
