    Hello Gent's
I picked this one up and I am going to use it as my "Fioretti display".
Fioretti was the Lt. Pilot on my Uncle Joe's B17 when It was shot down. I have this pic of him wearing this type cover so this is the one I will use for his displayUSAAF garrison capUSAAF garrison capUSAAF garrison capUSAAF garrison cap
There are not maker marks on the back of the Lt Bar and I didn't want to take off the AFF insignia to check the Mfg. I have a headset and a pair of aviator sunglasses to make this happen. I will have to get me another mannequin head that has that killer mustache he is sporting!!!!!!

    Nice summer officers' cap!

Yes, it will look very cool with head phones and sun-glasses.

Nice Officer's cap Phil. Not sure why the winged prop
is attached to it. Maybe an afterthought when the
war ended ? It looks like a lapel insignia.........
    Regards,

    Steve.

    Thanks Guy's,
Steve, I thought the same thing, But I have run across several cap's sporting the AAF insignia, There was a wool Captains garrison cap that the same seller had but I wanted what Fioretti was wearing in the pic. Then there was this one also in wool i found on the site below while researching mine before I bought it. I am by far no expert on these but thought if it was seen in 2 different places , there might be a chance that is how they might have worn them. I know that in my avatar my Uncle doesn't have any insignia on his garrison cap but he was an enlisted man.

I have not seen any period pics of winged prop insignia
being worn on an overseas cap except by Cadets - at
least none I can remember - and it is placed where
    Officers rank insignia would be.........
    Regards,

    Steve.

The little winged prop looks like a collar insignia to me...

Well Its took a little over 5 years to find this pic of an airman sporting the wings on his garrison cap.
I have seen it in films while watching history channel, but never found a pic to post for proof of period worn wings on a garrison cap.
I'll still continue to search for this officer combo as mine in a period pic.
Who knows, You might see this posted again in 5 more years!!

You can sleep easy now Phil!

Looks like aircrew wings on his chest.
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated
