Default USAAF Officer's Tropical Visor for Review!

I picked up this visor at the Allentown show to pair with my dairy of a 2nd Lt., B-24 bombardier who served in the 13th Air Force in the South Pacific.

Although it definitely shows some age, the visor is worn on the brim, and the sweat band is separated on the right side, I think the visor cap is unmessed with and looks great, especially coupled with the WWII era Bausch & Lomb RayBan sunglasses! Overall, I think the cap and glasses compliment the diary grouping nicely!

    Comments would be much appreciated!

Thanks for the kind words! I am almost positive that it is WWII vintage, but I cannot find confirmation online.

Do you know anything more about the Knox Co.?

Hi Joe. Check the back of the badge for a makers mark.
Sometimes they are not marked at all, but quality
US insignia usually is - It's very 'new' looking.

The stiffener in the rim makes it look different - more
like the USMC stlye of cap.........
    Regards,

    Steve.

Do you think the cap is bad, Steve?

Not at all. I just don't trust dealers the way I used to - Lol.
It wouldn't surprise me if the eagle were changed out.

I have a friend with a cap similar to this, and I'd swear it's
a more modern USMC cap with a USAAF badge on it.
A WWII era cap badge can be worth 3 or 4 times
more than a modern badge, and they haven't
    really changed that much.........
    Regards,

    Steve.
