WW2 US Army Officers Cap in black?
I just picked up the following cap, it's black which I found very odd and which I cannot find any information for. I know it's a US cap, it has the army insignia on both the front badging and side buttons.
Anyone out there seen one and know any history on the usage of this color in US WWII?

It is a staff officers Infantry dress cap.
Rather than black it is a very deep army blue.

Arm of service color for the Quartermaster Corps is buff, which is what the band on this cap appears to be.
