Here's a neglected thread that deserves a comment. I have a little bit of an interest in these "Combat Utility caps" as they were also used by the New Zealand Army in the Solomon Islands during WW2. This one seems to me to be the Pattern 1941 style, which typically is taller, more soft, baggy and crushable than the revised P1944 Marine version. The visor is also a little shorter. Actually these early caps started out as a US Army Mechanics cap and were issued to the Marines in 1941. Also these early caps are the lighter "sage green" (which this one seems to be) rather than olive drab which started with the 1944 model. Which probably means it falls somewhere into production between 1941 and 1944. Often few marks inside, or only a size number. That's a good one.
The name looks like G.R. Jugersy...
Nice unusual name that could help with research!
