Default 2 Heer Feldmützen for Review and Opinions...

    Hi all,

I'm looking to acquire these two overseas caps and would like some opinions regarding authenticity or any red flags you may see.

Also, the Tropical cap is missing the piping. Is that normal?

Hi Darren, so far so good on both caps.

Remember the soutach was ordered out of use in 1942...

    Cheers, Ade.

Many tropical sidecaps were manufactured without soutache, following an order from the middle of 1942 and others had them removed following the same order. This example looks to be marked 1142 which most people think is the date and it should therefore never have had a soutache. Is it a Brandt made example? It is probably part of the Beehive hoard of unissued caps found lining a beehive in the 1970's (I think).

Both caps look ok, but better close up and detailed pics are required if you want a certain answer, IMO.
    Regards,

    Jerry

    Whatever its just an opinion.

    Hello,
As already mentioned, the soutache was discontinued in mid42.
I don't see any red flag concerning those two Feldmützen. They look great.
    Thanks
