von Schlabrendorff was surely an honorable man in many ways, but his account is famous for some of its errors.

Yes, I was quite surprised to read von Schlabrendorff's account.

These are very interesting and important artifacts for our study. I thank Dimas for posting them. The cap Ray Zyla once owned and now in the Wolfe collection was an earlier form brown base cap without wreath and only cocarde. It was obtained with a Hitler brownshirt.
About ten years ago, I know of a case where an elderly gentleman brought a gray Hitler visor in to a military shop along with some Goring silverware. The dealer did not recognise the hat for what it was and made a low offer. The gentleman politely packed up his treasure and said "That is not much for one of Hitler's hats." As he was an American, it likely came out of the Obersalzburg based on the presence also of Goring silver. Possibly an officer of the 101st Airborne Division.

There is a (in-?)famous site which has Hitlers revolver for sale...
Supposedly one kept in Hitlers apartment and used by Geli Raubal to commit suicide......

I think the Birthday Boy would be quite pleased that so many people would fall all over them selves to own a piece of his stuff . And that after 65 years the demand is only growing , but I guess who wouldn't want such a hot item . I'd trade it !
