    The exact rank can't be told by the cap; could be anything from Oberfähnrich to Oberst.

    I cannot comment on authenticity.

    You are the lucky owner (?) of a Kornacker cap (see here: Maker Study: J.C. Kornacker of Hildesheim (Marke Standard)) with a very specific lining of the top-panel. And the (Ersatz)leather sweatband is original to the cap.

    Artillery-red (like infantry-white) is none of the rare Waffenfarben. Lilac, pink, violet, black etc. are the more sought-after and thus (even) more expensive ones.
