    Nice original JHS second pattern pith helmet. Just to let you know these were not exclusivity worn by the DAK, the pith helmet can be found in Italy, Southern Russia, Greece and french theaters during the war.

    Looks fine and to elaborate on what was already posted, very little evidence is known to exist that shows a 2nd pattern in use in Africa, to be precise a single photo showing one with a soldat with a scorpion is known but it might not be in Africa. Therefore there is no actual evidence that 2nd pattern tropenhelms were ever worn by the DAK, though they were first made in 1941 and there is no reason why non were used there, but the evidence is so far lacking, from the many 1000's of photos taken by members of the DAK.
