I don't know too much about Bahnschutz, but the fact that this cap is dark blue with three WHITE pipings struck me as I only knew this form: Rail Police visor original?
or that (for officers): Bahnpolizei Officer's Visor Cap
The early Bahnschutz visor caps were indeed dark blue, but with two red pipings along the centerband and a blue one on the crown or, for officers, with three SILVERY Gespinstlitzen. See here: bahnschutzuniformen - Streifdienst 1926
I am curious to read the Bahnschutz experts' opinions on this.
EDIT: Just found out that HPL2008 cited this link alread in 2012, see here (post # 10): DRB (Reichsbahn/Railways) Headgear Thread

It is an M-38 (dark blue) visor worn by EM/NCO ranks.
Technically, it should have a leather chinstrap.

Did you score the visor?
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
If I recall correctly, this cap went for 420 euros ( plus 17% ), which seems like a pretty good price.

I agree, good price, but probably takes into account the incorrect chincord.
