Black Field Cap

I have this Field Cap in my collection. I always assumed it was a reproduction but would like some opinions. What interests me are the buttons. Could they perhaps be authentic?

I had one like this back in 1982! Cost me $25.00. It had a national eagle on top not a typical SS eagle. Fun to wear, but didn't want to give a bad impression when I got to college so I traded it to a dealer for credits on real medals. They're still in the shoe box. Retirement here I come!

Yepp, just as I figured. It was given to me about 10 years ago and I immediately figured it was fake. The buttons might be authentic though. They're stamped on the back with the circular RZ-M logo. I'm gonna do some more research on them.

I do not think the buttons are original.

The buttons are total fantasy. No such button ever existed. The pattern is a copy of the SS cufflinks worn with the SS tuxedo.
