    Hi all!

I bought this visor with a lot of 4 tunics recently purchased and am hoping some of you can tell me some facts about it, and give me some feedback regarding condition, authenticity, rank, etc. I know its Luftwaffe, but beyond that I'm not sure.

    Thanks!

Looks like you have an unissued LW visor. It is what we call a contract cap (procured by the government for issue to the soldiers). The brown piping is for Signals (communications).

I will leave the value to others--I am rusty on Wehrmacht values.

    Nice cap!

Nothing much more to add: issued to NCO's and enlisted men.

A nice clean example and well worth having in your collection. I cannot help much on value either. But here in the UK I would expect to see a price of about £350.

    Cheers, Ade.

Thanks guys. The condition is just amazing overall, although the bill does have some very minor scoffs hard to see in the photos.

Stonemint, how can you tell its unissued?

A very nice Luftwaffe Signals nco/enlisted cap, with the early eagle insignia. I would place the value anywhere from $500, to $700 at a dealer, less in a private sale. This branch of service is not as highly valued as flight/paratroops (yellow piping), or even flak (red piping). Still, it's a cap I would be proud to own.

Ade, i wish to god i lived near you , your prices are some of the most reasonable i have ever seen, I bet any money you like that at any arms fair you would see this cap going for between £600-£800. a friend of mine has a beautiful heer infantry officers cap , no moth holes,no fraying , bullion insignia, sweat band, but no celluloid makers insert, even has the original padding at the front behind the sweat band, lovely crisp cap cords, what sort of prices would these go for,in your opinion.

Hi Dave, I am always a little reticent to quote prices as you might have already gathered.

I suspect your friends cap would be at least £1000.

    Cheers, Ade.
