    Greetings my festive cap fiends,

Now it is a well known fact that during the third reich many traditional customs and religious festivals were frowned upon and discouraged. One such holiday that came under the spotlight of national socialist fervour was the celebration of Christmas.

In such times it became prudent for those most associated with the events to conceal themselves as best they could..............

............ as part of my recent research I uncovered strong evidence that, given the age of Santa Claus, he very cleverly managed to hide his true identity for these dangerous years by a cunning plan in true black adder style !

There is only one thing wrong with his disguise.................can you spot the real Santa ?

    cheers

    Tony

btw ....before anyone asks there is no prize!

Lol - He's the guy third from the left in the middle row !

As you can see, with the need to go un-noticed he
has shaved off his familiar beard to 'blend in'
    with the other guys.........!
    Regards,

    Steve.

Geez, some of those guys could have served in the Franco-Prussian War of 1870

    Good one.

Looks like a 'Schützenverein' - a shooting club.

I realize, that the OP was tongue in cheeck and it is pretty funny, but didnt the TR have the Christmas season down as a pagan season in their version of history?

I remember those 'Julleuchter'/Yule lanterns candle sticks supposedly presented by Himmler to favourites mentioned here.

Nope; they are members of the Kyffhäuserbund: Notice their cap badges and armbands.

As for the rifles: The Kyffhäuserbund (later NS-RKB) was very active in shooting sports; this was an important part of their activities. In fact, during the NS-RKB years, Schießsport [shooting sports] was eventually re-designated Schießdienst [shooting duty], participation in which was made compulsory for all local groups.

In fact, the Kyffhäuserbund is still an officially-recognized shooting sports association nowadays:

If you had a swollen prostate, arthritis, hemorrhoids, and your feet and back hurt you would look grumpy too.
