'twas ever thus in manufacturing sectors at all times in all places. some sub-contractors just don't Get it Right. in this case inferior celluloid in a superior quality cap falling away on its own. this cap can't have been worn more than a very few times and the diamond's already said bye-bye. just as with your fine teller form black topper. thanks for that, too.

I think we've all seen many beaters out there with years of wear whose diamonds are A-OK.

thanks a lot seb- tho I think yours has the faux leather sw'band, mine has the leather. maybe the leather cost more, also the fabric lining instead of the "paper" type? different options even for EM/NCOs I guess..
