    This a PAPAKHA.

The construction is Soviet in manner. But the tresse looks German made.

The main concern would be this would be easy to fake up. The eagle is actually Postal.

    Cheers, Ade.

My pleasure. I would certainly pass on it.

These were worn in the RKKA from 1935, but after 1941 they were only worn by full Colonels and above.

    Cheers, Ade.

I notice at once the cross on the Papakha is hard worn, but the cloth cockarde is in very good condition. The best way to start with this cap must be to do a blacklight test.

And if you look closely, you see the cockade is Blue,Black, and Red. I do not recognize these coloures. I know it is probably ment to be Blue and Red, the Don coloures. But i have seen this cap before and i didnt felt comfortable with it. It has been for sale online for a long time.

It would make me happy if it turned out to be a good Papakha, but i am not convinced at the moment.
