Hi Stonemint, Would you say that the gentleman shown in Post 135 is an SS NCO wearing an Army cap with SS insignia or an SS cap with Army insignia and strap?? In any event, an interesting photo and mix.
    Thank you
    Regards Michael R

Pic of an Austrian policeman with occupation troops. Note he wears the TR Schupo visor, but he has swapped his cords for the Austrian style, and has also added an Austrian cockade:

Not unusual, but rare for the fact that Goering is wearing a Police General's uniform:

Hermann aint so big in this photo, so it must be an early photo.
I have not seen him in a police uniform before. Thanks!
The photo shows Göring with Daluege in 1933. As the Prussian Ministerpräsident, Göring was also the head of the Prussian police.

We all know Göring had a finger in the pie with many organizations. We all know about his activities with the German Luftwaffe,
Deutsche Luftfahrt/Deutscher Luftsport-Verband, but for example as well also with the RLB (Reichsluftschutzbund, from
which he was the founder, patron and highest leader), Deutsche Jägerschaft (Reichsjägermeister), Staatsforst
(state forestry - Reichsforstmeister), the SA (SA-Obergruppenführer and Chef der SA-Wachstandarte "Feldherrnhalle").
    Just quickly some named.

Shown here a nice photograph from him as General der Infanterie
    from the German army:

The photo is included on page 55 from my "Aiguillettes from the Third Reich".

SA-Obergruppenführer Göring as Chef der SA-Wachstandarte "Feldherrnhalle", wearing the old form
SA-uniform from about 1933, along with FH-commander SA-Gruppenführer Erich Reimann, photographed
    in 1938.

Gruesome pic from the Battle of Budapest in 1945.
    However, it is noteworthy as photographic proof that "incorrect" insignia continued to be worn late in the war;
and that visor hats were worn in combat:
