    Hi Astrath,
    Göring's caps were very special - he had many where the insignia were embroidered directly on to the centerband. Normally this centerband (for LW) was made of mohair and the seam of this centerband had to be at the front of the cap. When the insignia were placed over it it couldn't be seen any longer. With insignia which were directly embroidered to the cap band this seems not to have been possible, so you see Göring wear a cap where this seam can be seen at the back of the cap.

    Amazing thread this, makes you wonder what the purist would say if such visors were to be come available, not real, not genuine, such insignia would not have been used.
