Here is an odd one, not so much for the DRB cap with the Eidelweiss, but for the camo Reichsbahn tunic (credit Askold):

Hi Chris, he is an SS Flak helper from Galicia. The armband was yellow/light blue.

    Cheers, Ade.
    Thanks, Ade!

    as noted at the WAF:
this photograph is taken by various persons from a website from a friend of mine. One can still see his mark int he lower part.

This particular photograph is taken in August 1944 at Verona in Italy by a well-known German photographer, Walter Hollnagel. Also after the war he made many photographs related to the German railroad. This originally is a color photograph. Hollnagel photographed often in color at the end of the war. The two men are standing in front of a building and not as I have read in front of an engine.

And what is said at the WAF: when one would see such a jacket at a show one would not buy it, thinking some hanky-panky. The jacket is not at all a regulation item.

An interesting photo showing a member of the HJ wearing an SS Sahariana tunic and SS tropical cap, Volkstrurm armband, HJ shoulder boards and belt buckle.

Not a particularly rare uniform combination, but a nice pic nonetheless (credit: Mark Yerger):

You don't often see camo netting worn on a visor:

Ben pulled this from the NAC. Note the SS runes sewn over the Heer Pz tab. & as Ben pointed out, note the necessity for the third prong!
