The eagle is from Wehrmacht officer's cap, not SS. So the cap seems good.
it is that but patina/use seem to mach could it always have been like that as theres been plenty non regulation set ups on headwear in period photos?

Iam sure that the skull is a RZM 52. A early variant ('33-'34)
from Deschler, just like this one..
Hat is a nice Muller piece. Army, Political and Civil eagles can be found on SS visors in many period pics. Congrats to the new owner.
