Ok well let's draw a line under this one and just remember how best to go about asking for help.
Great Ben... you are a true father for me.... Dady Ben for all forum !!!
What have I done to deserve this!
Ben, I agree, it is a thankless task (with very rare exceptions). I do it because I do not want new/young collectors to make the same mistakes I did when I was their age. The only advice I ever got back then was "read the books" (which was worthless back then, as there was only 2 books on headgear).
Obviously, if we let people get burned (which is much more expensive to have happen today, even when adjusted for inflation), this hobby will be populated by only a few people in short time.
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
I did receive some additional pictures which have alleviated my initial concerns somewhat. Looks like the front lining has been re-sewn, but the side pleats appear ok.
Like any SS visor, it would need a hands-on.

Stonemint, are those inliner photos from the original posted visor cap?
Mint never worn liner?
This morning I got an SS Off visor offer, looked and looked glad I refused to buy it.
But anyhow this one here looks better if all is OK.
The band has not been re-sewn. What you see is a crease in the leather.
Klaus, they are talking about the lining, not the sweat band.
