Nice video Greg. The Latvian SS are obviously happier than they would have been surrendering to the Russians. I wonder whether we handed them back to Stalin?

    Cheers,

Over 1,000 Latvian Legion soldiers were used to guard the Nazi prisoners at Nuremberg. Many of the Latvians ended up living in England. The Latvians were given an exception to the "Waffen SS troops are all criminals" rule. The only ones extradited back to Stalin were those interned in Sweden, and this was later regretted.

Not quite immediate captivity, but he would be dead by his own hand less than 24 hours after this photo was taken--General Krebs waiting to negotiate with the Soviets.

Interesting photo, the officer on the right (Stug? I don't know my uniforms that well) has what appears to be a metal eagle pinned over the trapezoid of his cap. Maybe one for the "Don't tell me they wouldn't have worn that" thread????
