Heer Panzer officer schirmmutze,.private purchase,recent purchase at gun show.maker markings on sweat patch are un-readable,shows wear,.i was told this was related to the armour/Armour recon area of the wehrmacht,but i think its a panzer officers schirmmutze.any comments much appretiated.

Definitely Panzer, Recon was yellow piping.
It has a nice look to it.

I agree, lovely Panzer with the early insignia.
Can you make out any words on the sweatdiamond logo?
Sometimes holding it up at an angle to the light allows you to see the impression of the logo better.

the old handwriting style is very hard to read.but this is as close as i could get.

The distributor is Joh. Hiller of Bad Cannstatt.
I have only seen one other hat distributed by him.
