Thanks for the kind comments.
I forgot to post this overhead shot:
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
D**n Arran, there goes my claim to being the only one! Yours is obviously by a different maker than mine--does it have an RZM tag?
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
No tag or any evidence that there was one. Like yours, It has minimal padding and an alkor type sweatband. They both seem to have very similar visors too...
Aaran-
Welcome to our Forum. What a spectacular hat. It appears to be in the same pristeen condition as Stoney's. These need to be in the next Saris "Headgear of Hitler's Germany" as the subject is the youth organizations.

Stonemint: the color for the cap band is that crimson? I can't see this.
Would like to see a front shot. As Bob says this one eventually might be
useful for my volume 6.
The cap from Arran seems to have a bright red cap band, isn't? For staff
it should be crimson. As far as I know and in my opinion, the 1937 eagle
does not belong to this cap at all, as neither do the white cords, nor the
white piping do. To me the cords look as from whitish silk!!
This cap suggests to be from about 1937 or even later, but then the band
already had to be black (in use since 1936) and the pipings silver. In fact since
about March 1935 the cap band should have silver pipings. The crimson color
disappeared. High ranked functions in a staff did wear 3 golden pipings; lower ranks
did wear silver pipings and no colored band at all. Top piping, as well in silver (this I
thought out of heart. Have no time to check the actual information).
Those caps are very special. Thanks for sharing!
Bob- thank you for the welcome here.
Wilhelm- the band is actually more of a true crimson, but the flash makes it look bright red. The cords are in fact silk or some artificial impression thereof. Note the black buttons, which suggest a black leather chinstrap was originally worn, but this is how I got it and I'm loathe to make any changes...
Cheers,
Arran.
So crimson! But what is not correct is the eagle, nor the cords. They actually were not worn with this cap.
That's my opinion and is also stated with a regulation.
