Hi Cody, in an acid free archival quality cardboard box, packed with acid free tissue paper. The main thing is to avoid it being crushed and to take the weight off the visor. This is how museums store items.

For display I use a glass head form inside a glass display cabinet. Some cedar wood blocks are inside the case too to ward of moths etc.

    Hope this helps?

    Cheers, Ade.

Just out of curiosity, I've heard allot about these glass heads, why are they better than the styrofoam ones? Are the styrofoam ones bad for the hats? Thanks, Greg

Styrofoam are bad as they release gases which will damage the leather parts in long term use.

    Cheers, Ade.

I use large size plastic baggies and throw a moth pack in with the hat. I rest the hat on a sponge or pillow. Never had a problem that way. Make sure there is not an excessive amount of heat, cold, and moisture.

A very simple method to display peaked caps is to take a plastic football, the large type, cut it in half and place the cap on it, it keeps the shape of the cap plus stops the peak from touching the surface, its best used in conjunction with a glass case to stop dust etc settling on the cloth and as Ade suggests a cedar wood block
