Default Infantry em/nco visor cap with a surprising twist!!

    Hello guys!

Just received this lovely nco visor cap from Germany.
Well yes just another nco visor cap I bought it as..
Loved the shape and condition it was in..

And after consulting our own Chris ( stonemint )
I bought it from a very nice gentleman in Germany..
When I unpacked the visor from the box it came in..
A bag of sweets was also with the visor! best deal ever.. a lovely visor and a bag of sweets.. what else can you ask for?

But that was not the best part!!
On the pictures sent from Germany you could see a tag without any name on it, in the visor..
I hoped maybe there would be a name on the other side of it..
And here comes the best part..
THERE was indeed a name on the other side of the tag.. it reads:
    Stabsfeldwebel
    Claus Breger
    1./ I.R. 27
So I looked up the name, hoping to perhaps find anything.. and I sure did!!

Claus Breger was born October 25, 1910 in Pinnow/Pommerania in Germany.

He died December 17th, 1944 in Sankt Vith, Belgium.
    He is buried on
    German War Cemetery Stadtkyll

He died with the rank of Hauptmann (Captain)
And was posthumously promoted to major.

    Now to the interesting part..
Claus Breger won the DKIG February 16th, 1942
    By the rank of stabsfeldwebel.

On September 4th, 1942 he won the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes!! By the rank of stabsfeldwebel.

He was posthumously awarded the Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub on January 14th, 1945!!

This is the best surprise I have had for a while
A bag of sweets and a nco schirmmütze belonging to a knight's cross with oakleaves winner!

    I paid 485€/548$ for it!!
Hope you will enjoy the pictures..
    Best score this year

Oh by the way the visor is made by Perküro and retailed by F. Ricken
    ( Fulda)
