Re: Infantry Schirmutze (Visor Cap)
I could be wrong and i hope i am, but this cap appears to have no wear on the internals whatsoever, nor do i like the the peak, the eagles head appears to be malformed, ie not fully finished, i understood the cap cord knots had 5 strands and not 4 but i could be wrong on this, its a lovely looking cap, but somethings ringing bells in my head

Re: Infantry Schirmutze (Visor Cap)
Thank you, guys.
I've seen some original Visor Caps on Pat Moran and Jon Maguire's "German Headgear in World War II" Book that showed almost no signs of use at all. Signs of wear could be a reason to determine its originality? I know that we shoud be aware if something that has 60 years old seems like new, but.... no more clues on the pictures?!?!
Anyone has a definitive position about it?

Re: Infantry Schirmutze (Visor Cap)
I wouldn't write it off based upon the fact it is a minty and unworn cap. These caps exist in the same way unissued decorations exist and unissued helmets can be found etc etc......
I know very little about visors so can't help with authenticating the piece in question but hopefully Ben or stonemint will be along to offer their opinions.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
