    I took a punt at 1920's police cap for a German state..........wild guess Wurttemburg as this is the cockade thats on it !

    Definately a Weimar-era cap. I would say some sort of civilian flying club (if the winged propeller is truly original to the hat).

    The badge looks very similar to a circa WWII Army Air Force Aviation Cadets Hat Badge, Wings and Propeller.

    The 'winged prop' insignias do look similar but the one on the cap
    I believe is German and definitely not US, though I don't know
    if it is original to the visor.........
