    Seller's description:

"This macabre relic of WWII was reported by the consignor to have been excavated shortly after the war from a soldier's grave at a concentration camp. It has the correct copper brown piping for a concentration camp officer. The SS eagle is missing but an outline can be seen. The skull & crossbones insignia is still attached to the black band. Officer style chin cord is still attached. Partial sweatband. CONDITION: this hat is in excavated condition w/ great wear & a few holes. Stitching is loose in many places & there are holes in the body of the hat. There are areas of mold & the leather is quite deteriorated."

Now if we all bury our fakes, wait a few weeks and dig them up again - perhaps they will have become originals. Or a cap tree will begin to grow and we can harvest caps after some years.
