    Default Justice ( "Justiz" ) Headgear in Period Photos

    I just noticed that there isn't a thread about wartime pictures of Third Reich justice men , so here's a start
    Justice visor caps are rare and most of the times found with the wrong insignia and cap cords , especially the cord with the gold / green segments.....
    Many ( post-war ) variations of these cords can be found on justice visors : 2 segments gold - 2 segments green , 1 segment gold - 3 segments green but according to the regulations the cord must have 2 segments dark green and 1 segment gold !

    The ( large ) state eagle is in gold , as well as the gold pebbled buttons holding the leather chin strap or the cap cord.

    One should not that the color for the so-called Strafvollzugsdienst (SVD) is field-grey
    for Justizwachtmeisterdienst (JWD) the earlier noted dark green-grey. The color for
    the cap band is resp. for SVD dark-green; for JWD black.

    A quick survey for the piping colors:
    SVD = crimson;
    JWD = bright green (for example for the Amtsgericht - AG), but also in use with Landgericht - LG
    and Oberlandesgericht - OLG. For Volksgerichtshof - VGH = crimson and for Reichsgericht -
    RG
    = dark-red.

    Buttons and national eagle emblem:
    SVD = golden colored;
    JWD-AG, LG and OLG = silver colored;
    VGH and RG = golden colored.
    Since 1941 the eagle was gold for all.

    And the female justice personnel ( "Beamtinnen ") had their own " Schiffchen ".
    These caps had piping on the left side , the piping was the same pattern as the cord on the visor cap but without the fastening loops and glider knots on both sides ( see the text between the red lines ).

    The " Schiffchen " had a woven eagle and cockade at the front.....

    Theo, here a "helping hand" about the field-cap for females from the
    "Dienstbekleidungsvorschrift" (DBeklV) - (AV.d.RJM from June 3, 1942
    as 2044 - V s 1 484), the description:

    I have much more information about justice, but this has to wait until
    I am writing the volume for "Headgear of Hitler's Germany" when
    time is given me and Bender to finish that particular volume (10 or so)
    and the others in "writing stage" (6, 7, 8 and 9)! At this moment Bender
    is working with the lay-out for my "Third Reich Reichsbahn Eagles".
    I am checking and correcting right now the first 120 pages for this book.

    It would be great to see a photo from a female with her "uniform" with
    field-cap. This is an unbelievable rarity, not mentioning an actual cap!!

    From Jörg Nimmergut (1978): Deutschland-Katalog, Mützen von Staat
    und Partei, 1933-1945

    Nimmergut was not quite correct. For example he mentions the eagle
    to be from metal, but the regulation says woven or embroidered. Also
    the color for his cap has another color. He rested on the color for the
    males, but the dress for the women was dark-blue (possibly merely
    resting on the color for the uniform for the "Wachtruppe bei den
    Strafgefangenenlagern im Emsland
    " (the guards for the prisoners
    camps at Emsland). They also did wear dark-blue, according the 1942
    uniform-regulation.

    I believe this fellow to be early Justizwachtmeisterdienst, but I may be incorrect.
    Note that he is wearing the first type political cockade w/ swastika:
