    Default Kleinbahn Visor Cap

    Hello all ,

    This one just came in.....

It's a visor for the " Kleinbahn " ( The term Kleinbahn (literally 'small railway', plural: Kleinbahnen) was a light railway concept used especially in Prussia for a railway line that "on account of its low importance for general railway transport" had less strict requirements placed on its construction and operation that main lines (Hauptbahnen) or secondary lines (Nebenbahnen i.e. normal branch lines). Even public railway lines built for constructional or industrial purposes were counted as Kleinbahnen.

Kleinbahn visors have aluminum insignia instead of gold insignia for Reichsbahn visors.....
Blue chincord interwoven with gold flecks indicates paygroup 17a to 12.

Visor was manufactured by Peter Küpper ( Peküro ) , it's a size 59 and condition is near mint.....

I let the pictures do the talking.....

If she happens to understand Cockney rhyming slang, she'll tell you "A hat". If she doesn't, she'll go "Huh?".

    So, yes.

Hi Steve R. A "titfer" is a hat. The word is made up of two other words "tit" and "for" ergo "titfor". The expression is derived from Cockney (London) ryming slang as in tit for tat meaning hat. Apples and pears meaning stairs. The general idea was that an outsider would not understand a conversation. So to say, "He's gone up the apples to get his titfor" actually meant "He's gone up the stairs to get his hat". There are literally hundred of these rymes.

Ruby Murray = Curry. Expressed as Going for a Ruby tonight.
Pen and Ink = Stink. That guy over there don't half pen or pen and ink.

In answer to your question, if she is not aware of Cockney then yes you probably would be in the "two bob bit".

    Regards Michael R
