KM/Heer pith helmet
Hi guys
Just recieved this one from a friend of mine..
Had David ( real steel ) to check it out for me..
My friend stated it is a reissued heer used by the Kriegsmarine.. well it has all the heer attributes..
The only other specimen I could find was at Weitze
Kriegsmarine Afrikakorps weisser Tropenhelm - Kriegsmarine 1933 - 1945 - Kopfbedeckungen III. Reich & 2. Weltkrieg: Schirmmutzen, Schiffchen, Stahlhelme etc. - Militaria / Helmut Weitze
Same as mine..
Well it have some cracks and tear and wear.. but I liked it and got it at a fair price.
Anyone knows if the KM used these white painted helmets.. or was it for blocking the sun they painted them white? Who knows... any pictures of any white ones like this one in wear.. if anyone has any pictures.. please share them.
Well enjoy.
Best regards,
Lt. Col
Ullergaard

Love the picks Nick

Interesting pith helmet sir. I've studied them a little but never owned any so that's a weak spot in my knowledge, but they are pretty neat.

Todd I'll agree they are pretty neat actually..
Quite heavy also! Normally not into helmets, but this one spoke to me
