Article about: I have been looking for one of these for at least the last 10 years, and finally found one (that met my demanding standards)--it is an Officer's visor for the 2. Leib-Husaren-Regt. Königin V

Great cap, you have found that "one in a million" for sure. I have never seen a WW1 cap of any type in that STONEMINT condition before! Well done, you deserve that piece in your stunning collection. Leon.

Very nice. Very attractive piece. You can see, as you say, how Heini Himmler stole the concept from this prototype.

Amazing find..which brings to light what was mentioned above about the SS cap. It seems to appear that much of the TR period artifacts have derived from earlier times.

A beautiful piece, thanks for sharing it!

I must agree, Princess Viktoria Luise did look striking in that black uniform indeed. (Whereas poor Cecilie looked a bit silly with her Pickelhaube.)

When the SS started wearing black visor caps?

I read in a book, the Wehrwolf said, they started earlier with black skull caps.

Thanks for the kind comments, guys.
While I did not have to pay asking price, I did not get it for a bargain, either, but then again, these caps have a history, rarity & prestige many TR caps lack.
