In my attempt to grow the headwear corner of my collection, I couldn't pass up a great deal on this visor cap.

a lovely Ems/Nco cap.
Interesting cap - early model. Funny that there is a visible seam above the Schwingen. Normally this shoudln't have happened. Obviously even the old cap-makers were not entirely perfect.
ErWeSa: are you sure?
The Luftwaffe-regulation for the visored cap explains (L.Dv. 422, Abschnitt A)
from November 27, 1935:
Das Hoheitszeichen ist auf der Mitte der senkrechten Vordernaht der Mütze,
in gleichmässigem Abstand vom oberen Rand des schwarzen Besatzstreifens
befestigt.
So, the eagle emblem is to be positioned over the middle seam of the front!
This did not change with the new regulation from April 1, 1937.
The later version eagle is positioned onto the shown visored cap
Nice example.
Nice EM NCO! timothy
Fine condition-I can see why you couldn't resist! Nice find!

Wim: I meant the seam that fixes the upper part of the cap-band to the cardboard. This seam should not be visible as it should be exactly in the seam of the piping. Hoheitsabzeichen is O.K.! I just referred to the satorial imperfection, which does not detract the overall impression of the cap.
Sorry, I misunderstood you. Now I see what you mean!
Love the yellows (pipping!), as well!
Great cap.
