Article about: Anyone know where the description "bullion" came from? Certainly not from the original German product lists.

I do not think the price difference was all that great. Elsewhere we appended the Verkaufsabteilung d. Lw price list. The generals' caps were the costly ones.
    damit, basta.

Friedrich how much would you say that a LW officer visor cap costs?

Do you mean cost in 1939 or now?
I had meant the prices when new at the time.
The prices today you can see for yourself with the good websites, but I do not collect Lw material and have no sense of real prices.
I always liked Lw officer caps. I just was given a modern day one (model 1992) from a good friend of mine in the Bw Luftwaffe.

I meant for today's prices. I've never seen an officers one for sale yet.

Just for interest. The cost of alu wire insignia alone during the period would be the same if not more than the actual cap it was sewn to.
These days though, it doesn't add anything to the value of a cap. Strange isn't it?

And others fuss endlessly about silly "sculls" of no particular historical significance. The hand made alu badges or any hand made object had then and still should retain intrinsic value. But collector taste is so cock-eyed that one ignores this fact offered by colleague Ben. It is also true that the cap badges of metal had hand work in them too, to finish them to the appearance we like, but not of the dimension of hand bestickt badges. All quite odd.Name: Snapshot 2010-01-02 18-20-21.jpg

An officer's cap with alu embroidered Effekten cost about RM 16.50 ca. 1938/9. This was more than say an SS officer's cap of normal type, which cost in the SS procurement system about RM 7.50 or so.
    damit, basta.
