Luftwaffen-Felddivisionen Panzerjäger Vsor cap
To show this one again, but in a different light.
I was looking at this from the wrong perspective, as the piping of "Rosa" in the Luftwaffe is for the Corps of Engineers, and I was thinking that maybe
the NCO/OR caps were for qualified senior NCO's in that Corps, and awaiting transfer across, but in recent e-mails with "Ramjet" from another forum,
he is in Germany, and a current serving member of the Bundesluftwaffe, his research says that this cap would have been used by Luftwaffen-Felddivisionen
I have copied his response to my query below.
Very interesting and rare cap, I like it very much, never seen one of this kind. Actually, there was a NCO rank in the corps of Ingenieuroffiziere, but it was an officer aspirant, the Oberfähnrich (Ing.) mit bestandener Prüfung. Shoulderboards like an Oberfeldwebel and four gulls on the collar tabs, but officer tresse around the collar – and the officer cord at the visor cap, which was piped in pink. So that doesn’t go for Your cap. Unfortunately, none of the Luftwaffe regulations said anything about NCOs in the Ingenieur-Korps, instead they stated that all members were officers and had to wear the respective uniforms. So I think it is rather a cap for an EM/NCO of the Panzerjäger branch of the Luftwaffen-Felddivisionen. They had the pink Waffenfarbe and the probability is much higher, as in this case the cap was totally according to the regulations.
And, by the way, I find this explanation much more charming than the Ingenieurkorps variant ... ;-))
