Hi Gustav, the trade name "Helvetia" was used during the war by Christian Schweitzer. The wartime trade mark had the words "Ges. Gesch." each side of the crest. They were based in Koblenz. After the war, it is believed the Company passed to his son, Friedrich Schweizer. But I have never seen the name Walter Schmitt used in connection with this firm?

    Cheers, Ade.

    Hi,
Thank you all for the info. I have 3 more of the M43, in my opinion they are all fakes or? It seems to be a big problem with all fakes, it must be a profitable market.
Please feel free to use the photos for the fake thread.

thank you for taking your time to look at my fake caps, hopefully I could present something interesting in the future.

Hi Gustav, you are correct they are all fakes.

These caps are faked a lot. Originals are now hard to find. Most had the insignia removed and were worn to destruction in POW camps or as as work wear after the war ended.

    Cheers, Ade.
