Muetzenfabrik

Article about: F.B. Reichenbach is about 10 km (6 miles) away from me. If you want, I'll make a photo of the building. If it is still standing.

This all looks like real quality stuff. I would imagine you would pay heavily today to have a suit made with these kind of painstaking measurements.... An almost lost art.

Judgeing by the art styles, I would suspect this pre dates WW1? I am reminded of Prince Albert in the general look of the figures in the hair styles etc.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Ade -

You are correct; the Foreword is dated 1909.

The volume goes on at length with text and similar drawings:

And concludes with dozens of pages of accounts, which I cannot decipher, as such:

Guys, i have found this thread a pleasure to read, very entertaining as well as a learning process.

Chris, when you stated that there were only about 4 others interested in hat making i imagine you are probably correct. There was so much involved behind that piece of cloth that we as collectors should have a better understanding of the firm that made it regulations, tailoring, advertisng etc. etc.

Chris and FB, you have opened my eyes alittle wider. Thank you.

    rgds, Ty

Thank you for the nice addition. My spies told me about this document. Weitze has several reprints of this sort of thing for sale. The black tunic illustrated is an early variety with the long skirt.

The Herstellungsvorschriften of 1936 include much of this material, but nearly no SS material, for some reason.

I have had no time in the last two months to extract more from the UM publication, and am suffocated in work.

I am glad this material is useful. It opens many panoramas, to be sure.

I've just read this thread from page 1 through the last.

It certainly was and is informative. Thanks to all for your effort and am looking forward to future installments. NH....
