HPL--I was doing some research on the firm (I have a Rechnung from Firma Kern) and found the pics. I believe I just inputted mutzenfabrik, kern, lunzenau .
The account of the history of this Saxon firm is as indicative of a small hat making firm as any. Noteworthy is the growth of same in the III. Reich. Thanks for the further data.
This is a find, really. I have not seen something like this, and in Tuebingen, no less. One knows that in this part of Germany, there is much traditional costume associated with yearly celebrations, as well as Trachten. But the historical piece is interesting. The maintenance of tradition of the medieval period is also a major trend. I wonder if they maintained their company records from the Schickelgruber period. I go to Stuttgart often enough, so I will have to take a look, as Tuebingen is near by.
Thanks. An interesting and noteworthy find, which is the exception. In the main, these firms in a family are all gone. Although Breiter in Munich is still there, but they deal in ordinary headwear of no poetic kind.
