Muetzenfabrik

Article about: F.B. Reichenbach is about 10 km (6 miles) away from me. If you want, I'll make a photo of the building. If it is still standing.

& unlike the German visors, most of these were issued with a labelled box. (This is an unissued one, and unfortunately, not mine).

Bancroft's motto said (and says) it all: "Built to Endure".

Here is the actual patent for the Bancroft Flighter crusher "curve-controlled" visor from the US patent office. Similar things exist in the archives of the Reichspatentamt, as evinced by (all too few) examples in the Wilkens book.

Erel, thanks for posting that rare piece of ephemera--even I do not have one for Erel. You can tell Erel was very proud of their Vulkanfiber products (one of which they even exported to Chile).

Interesting subject. Funny to notice the price of the US crusher back then. Puts collecting WWII headgear into perspective.

A nice article from Lufthansa's magazine regarding it's relationship with Alkero:

I own several brown shirts with detachable collars, but no images. Shirts of such a type were the norm, in fact. One finds both types.

There is a contemporary image in the Kleiderkasse SS catalog.

Kragenbinden are the cotton liners for the field blouse or the tunic.
They are not detachable collars for shirts.
    of note.
