    Yes, Jager Regt would use an "J".

    Having the same regt on the waffenrock is real bonus!

    Cheers, Ade.

    Nice enlisted mans private purchase cap, upgraded to Officer rank.

    The J can stand for Jager, but the piping would then of course be green.

    Info on the Regt here:

    Cheers, Ade.
    Het Ade;
    How do you tell it is upgraded from enlisted ?

    Hi Steve, i assume that it's because instead of the black leather chinstrap, it has the sliver bullion one. But that's just my thought, it would be nice to hear what Ade has to say

    Chris, super cap ! in Imperial times the marking for Jagers was usually "J.B." followed by the Battalion number...I think it was the same during the TR period.
    Prost 1 Steve.

    Weren't infantry units later upgraded to jaeger units? For example, I know that infanterie div. 5. was reorganized in 1942(3?) and renamed Jaeger div. 5.

    Might this explain why the cap has infantry piping? I could be way off here, just throwing something out there...
