Chris, super cap ! in Imperial times the marking for Jagers was usually "J.B." followed by the Battalion number...I think it was the same during the TR period.

Weren't infantry units later upgraded to jaeger units? For example, I know that infanterie div. 5. was reorganized in 1942(3?) and renamed Jaeger div. 5.
Might this explain why the cap has infantry piping? I could be way off here, just throwing something out there...
