That sounds in the ball park...looks NIB. I have one without a chinstrap that I paid $150 for...

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

That is a good price for this visor. Especially so because it is in mint condition.
a pretty common visor hat but I still don't know what a legit (and complete) one should look like... sometimes you see them with kokarde, sometimes without... the insignia is also placed in several different ways... please clear some things up if possible
For all the details of the development of this cap I strongly recommend Wim Saris' book "Headgear of Hitler's Germany" vol. 2. On pp. 268 ff. he shows the complete development of the DRKB/NS-RKB cap and of the badges from the early versions with cockade + oakleaf wreath (in the center of which there were different badges) to the late versions with eagle and army-like wreath etc. etc.
We all owe Wim a lot that he lets us participate here for free in his enormous knowledge. He is the man I admire - there is almost no regulation he hasn't heard of and documented.
Question to m4l700 and the specialists: Do you have an explanation why the wreath is so far off-center?

The guy who put it on the cap was not quite accurate.
If this was the original owner, who knows? With the
dark cloth one does not see if there are tiny holes, to
see if the insignia was being replaced!
I just ordered it. May I ask why you didn't buy it? Is there something I should know about the seller/ cap?
