Very nice Bob, it always amazes me how after all these years that something that is predominantly made from wool , cloth and cottons can survive in such excellent condition or in this case a completely unissued item, this must have been lucky enough to be stored in the correct humidity, temperatures and clean environment in order to display no signs of age, almost an hermatically sealed area, congratulations on a wonderful possession

This cap along with one other unissued cap were found a few years back packed away in the storage room of a war era German tailor's shop. When I first began collecting, it was not unusual to find caps in this condition. Proper care can ensure condition.
