Nice period original piece. The black backed patch indicates it came from either Motorgruppe Berlin-Brandenburg or Motorgruppe Niederrhein. It is a second pattern schiffen as it does not have the fold down side flaps.

Nice example, I've always thought these to be attractive and often still found at an affordable price...somewhat under-appreciated, in my opinion...

Hi Larry, the patch looks dark blue to me. Would this be Hessen, wartheland, Ostmark?

It's Bob, not Larry. If it is navy blue, it would be either Motorgruppe Hessen or Motorbrigade Hansa.

Sorry Bob, have no idea where Larry came from. Once again, thanks for the info. My dad just passed away 2 days ago, so my head is a little wacky. I think I was remembering a post from Larry C.
