Let's change the subject:
nice girls, F.-B.!
Attachment 916389
A pity that they are in their nineties meanwhile. Their contemporaries could buy the caps we appreciate so much for an apple and an egg - we can't.
As to the plan: I miss the targets of the area I live in which were disclosed in the 1980ies if I'm not wrong.
The vimmin are interesting at all ages.
The Warsaw Pact planned on an invasion of Austria, in fact, certainly in the 1980s.
Cold war war plans are a hobby of mine, and they should gain more attention.

The US, for its part, at the time of these SAC plans, had wanted to put Austria into NATO, as you know.
All too droll.

It is all very interesting.
But nevertheless, I would like, that the thread didn't leave too aside from the discussed subject.
Thanks once again.

Wolfgang and I are close collaborators, and we are privileged to have his expertise at no cost.
Please get more images of the cap, and he and I can help you.
Here you see a variety of Schellenberg caps, one of which is similar to yours. Numero VIII, namely.
The cap in the upper right hand corner is a fake, if I recall.

When I was a student in Wien in 1973, I had a student cap made for me by such an artisan firm. I bought an NCO army cap for the Bundesheer, and they offered the service to me, and it cost next to nothing. The conversation was: "Oh, you American, you like caps, we will make one for you. What is the size of your head, and come back next week.."
and such. A long, lost summer in the early 1970s.
I long since lost the cap, which is sad. It was wonderfully made. They were in the Josefstadt.

Are there absolutely no markings?
Warm Regards,
Justin

The size is marked on the reverse of the peak, plainly.
